Our handmade stollen follows a Christmas tradition dating back to 14th century Germany. The yeasted dough is enriched with butter; spiced with nutmeg, mace, and lemon zest; and filled with dried fruits (golden raisins, sweet cherries, apricots, and currants) soaked in sherry. Warm from the oven, the loaves are dipped in butter and rolled in sugar, to help them retain moisture. The loaf can be dusted with powdered sugar before serving. A small stollen serves about 4.
